Custom All-Laser LASIK is a two-step procedure that enables our eye surgeons to further customize the Wavefront-guided LASIK procedure to your individual eyes. First, a precise Laser custom flap is created in approximately six seconds using a 200 kHz Femtosecond laser.
Next, your data is sent to the surgical planning computer to create your individualized ablation profile. The WaveLight® laser’s integrated network provides seamless data transfer of your information within the WaveLight® Refractive Suite and WaveLight® Diagnostics resulting in seeing clearer and sharper than ever before. FDA studies show that Custom All-Laser LASIK may produce better vision than is possible with contact lenses or glasses.
Bladeless LASIK technology has many safety advantages and that’s why Dr. Dan B. Tran, of Coastal Vision, was one of southern California’s first LASIK surgeons to perform this procedure using the Intralase. Our surgeons continue to offer bladeless LASIK with safer and more advanced technologies. The WaveLight® FS200 Femtosecond Laser is the fastest refractive platform laser available in the U.S.
A greater chance of having 20/20 vision.
Potential for better vision than possible with contacts or glasses.
A much lower incidence of post-surgery glare and halos.
A potentially better overall vision, even at night.
A reduced incidence of dry eye symptoms.
With Bladeless LASIK and its customization components, surgeons can treat a wider variety of patients, including patients with thin corneas.
Clinical studies have shown that Custom All-Laser LASIK may improve not only what you see, but also how well you see it. In the past, the vision was measured using a standard vision chart. But now, with Custom All-Laser LASIK, eye doctors are able to focus on the quantity as well as the quality of your vision. Many patients who have had Custom All-Laser LASIK are reporting the ability to see clearer than ever before.
Several types of visual imperfections referred to as lower and higher-order aberrations exist within the eye. Lower-order aberrations are better known as nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism, while higher-order aberrations have been linked to glare and halos. Both types of aberration may significantly impact a person’s vision.
In the past, technology limited treatment to lower-order aberrations. Therefore, eye surgeons were unable to adequately treat patients with glasses, contacts, or conventional LASIK treatments.
Now with Wavefront-guided LASIK and PRK, our surgeons may customize your treatment to remove these higher-order aberrations. Our surgeons at Coastal Vision Medical Group will recommend the best procedure for your eyes based on your individual lower and higher-order aberrations. In some cases, our highly skilled LASIK surgeons may recommend Contoura™ a topography-guided LASIK treatment designed to provide a more personalized laser procedure, based on the unique corneal topography of each eye.
