Amir H. Marvasti, MD, is a distinguished expert in cataract, cornea, and refractive surgery specializing in cataract, cornea, and refractive surgery. With a dedication to delivering cutting-edge vision correction solutions, Dr. Marvasti combines advanced surgical expertise with a personalized approach to patient care.

Dr. Marvasti earned his medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine before completing his ophthalmology residency at the University of California, San Diego's renowned Shiley Eye Institute, where he was elected Chief Resident. He then pursued an elite fellowship in cornea and refractive surgery at the world-renowned Jules Stein Eye Institute at UCLA, refining his expertise in LASIK, advanced cataract surgery, and corneal transplantation.

A strong advocate for patient-centered care, Dr. Marvasti believes in understanding each individual's visual goals to provide tailored surgical solutions. "Being an ophthalmologist is not just a job; it's a calling. My greatest fulfillment comes from improving my patients' vision and quality of life."

Dr. Marvasti has a deep passion for education, research, and community service. He is one of a select group of surgeons in the United States who offers all six FDA-approved forms of vision correction, ensuring comprehensive options tailored to each patient's unique visual needs. He is actively involved in FDA clinical trials, contributing to the advancement of refractive and corneal surgery techniques that enhance patient outcomes and surgical precision. He has received multiple research awards and the prestigious Shiley Eye Institute Resident Teaching Award. His commitment to advancing eye care extends beyond the operating room—he volunteers with the UCLA Mobile Eye Clinic and has participated in international medical mission trips to provide free vision care to underserved communities.

He is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the Refractive Surgery Alliance Society. As a volunteer faculty member at UCLA's Department of Ophthalmology, he continues to educate and mentor future eye surgeons.
